Design
A style variation is a complete alternative look — colours, fonts, button shapes — bundled with the theme. Switching takes one click and changes nothing about your content.
How to switch
- Go to Appearance → Editor.
- Click Styles (the half-filled circle).
- Click Browse styles.
- Choose a variation, then Save.
Your pages, posts and images are untouched. Only the design changes.
What ships with each theme
- Athena — Pallas, Chryse and Glaukopis, plus the default.
- Hermes — Caduceus, Chthonios and Logios, plus the default.
- Hera — Basileia, Teleia and Boopis, plus the default. All four are light, separated by hue.
- Apollo — Phoebus, Musagetes and Citharoedus, plus the default. Musagetes is the dark, stage-lit one.
Changing fonts separately
Athena, Hermes and Hera also ship a typography library — nineteen font pairings grouped into four moods: bold, playful, professional and sophisticated. Find them under Styles → Typography. You can pair any font combination with any colour variation. Every font is bundled with the theme, so nothing is fetched from an external server.
Customising on top
Pick the variation closest to what you want first, then adjust. If you customise heavily and then switch variations, your custom values may be overwritten — so choose the base first, tune second.
Making your own
A variation is a single JSON file in the theme’s styles/ folder. Copy one, change the hex values and font slugs, rename it, and it appears in Browse styles alongside the others. Keep your copies in a child theme so a theme update does not remove them.
